The session of the
Executive Board of the International Committee of Finno-Ugric Studies was
held in
Yoshkar-Ola on March 11,
2005 under the chairmanship of Leonid
Garanin, Head of the
Mari El Republican Organizing Committee of the coming Xth
International Congress for Finno-Ugric Studies (August 15-21, 2005).
The
International Committee of Finno-Ugric Studies was represented by the
following delegates:
- Dr. Jury
Anduganov,
President of the 10th International Congress for Finno-Ugric
Studies, Chairman of the Committee of Finno-Ugric Studies of the
Russian Federation;
- Dr. Peter
Domokos,
Professor of
Budapest
University
(Hungary);

Dr.
Sirkka
Saarinen,
professor
of
Turku
University
(Finland),
Chair of the Finnish National Committee of Finno-Ugric Studies;
- Dr. Lars-Gunnar
Larsson, Professor of
Uppsala
University
(Sweden),
Chair of the Swedish National Committee of Finno-Ugric Studies.
Among
other participants of the session were the members of the Russian Federation
organizing committee of the Congress, and representatives of participating
regions (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous
Okrug,
Udmurt Republic, Republic of Mordovia,
Republic of Karelia). The heads of the working groups reported on their
activities on preparations for the Congress infrastructure (accommodation,
meals, transport, cultural activities during the Congress, and visa
support of the foreign participants). The session approved of the scientific
part of the
program of the
Congress.
